Djémila is a small mountain village in Algeria home to some of the best-preserved Berbero-Roman ruins in North Africa.Originally known as Cuicul, the site was founded in the 1st century AD likely as a Roman military garrison and showcases a unique adaptation of Roman architecture to the hilly landscape. Djémila's significance lies in its exceptional state of preservation. Highlights of the ruins include a theatre, forums, temples, basilicas, arches, streets, and residential buildings.
